Think Chess
Chess offers a variety of benefits to players of all ages. These benefits relate to skills developed by studying and playing chess. Not only will the student and player improve their reasoning skills, memory and recollection, objective decision making, communication skills, and concentration, but also develop a sense of confidence in their own abilities. Such skills will eventually develop a capability to problem solve using critical thinking, a key benefit of our program focused on teaching Critical Thinking Skills™️. Our program, thinkCHESS, is a rebranding of Championship Chess of Gwinnett, a program established in 2015 with the objective of providing children and aspiring chess players with Critical Thinking Skills™️ while enjoying the game of chess. These skills include Creativity, Analysis, Communication, Open-Mindedness, Problem Solving, Creativity.
thinkCHESS is happy to partner with Roberts Elementary School to provide students with the opportunity to learn the game of chess in a manner that develops Critical Thinking Skills™️. Each week our coaches work with students to impart knowledge that ranges from the rules of the game, etiquette of play, understanding chess position, tactics, and strategic planning. Each lesson is divided into lecture and practice periods, with students exercising their new skills with their fellow classmates. We provide support beyond the classroom by allowing the students to access an online platform that lets them review key lessons, watch chess videos, play chess against the computer and classmates, and participate in tournaments. The platform has built in security measures to ensure the safety of the students and to limit any possible problems.
Let’s play chess together!
